Green.. Everywhere..Freshness Everywhere..Let It Be..Try Green Travelling In Kerala

On world environment day this year, I woke up by reading a news article stating Surat, the diamond city of India will soon implement a law to implement effective segregation of waste from next month onwards.  Per day, the city is producing 1800 tons of wastes and the new law aims to deny the collection of waste from households if they are not segregated to dry and wet one. As per the data, Surat stands fourth in the place of a clean city under Swatch Bharath. As an environmentalist, the news has made a positive impact on me. By adopting these methods, the city is trying to inculcate a responsibility in every native towards nature. Plastic wastes are the villain in any waste management. Still, there is a continued use of the plastic material in our country. We know the majority of environmental issues are the after effects of unregulated tourism and the tourist activity. Kerala is the most popular tourist destination in India which everyone around the world would love to visit. But, the more numbers of tourists and their activities must be regulated without making any hindrance in their sightseeing and tripping. More than a local body, it is they who have to change first. If natives from cities like Surat where effective plans to cope environmental issues are implemented, they can illustrate an example to other tourists too This change must be a chain reaction. Following this strategy, in our everyday life by practicing in our homeland, we can inculcate the basic notion to other people too while traveling. Kerala welcomes tour packages from Surat in great numbers and of which we can find many travelers with a vagabonding nature in a green way, or by not inflicting pain on nature.  The State Government of Kerala is having plans to implement green protocol following responsible tourism but still, some percentage of responsibility is still in our hands. If tourism can control the plight of some places then it is the most effective tool to reduce ecological imbalances. For long travelers, they gave enough time to travel green and spread awareness.

To preserve the greenish nature of Kerala or any other places, keeping some of the guidelines in the mind can ensure a clean travel. Some may think how an individual can inflict a desired change in the present scenario but yes, being a long traveler one can spread the ideas to the whole world by showing others the right path of traveling on road by maintaining the greenest nature of the surroundings. Kerala is the most sought destination for a family as well as honeymoon tours and thus for ensuring the health of nature as well as others, we must start changing ourselves. Pick Kerala as your target destination for implementing green travel as it is the most popular tourist destination in South India.

Here I provide some best ways to do an eco-friendly tour.

From the onset of the tour, make an effort and plan accordingly
To implement some basic moves to protect nature,  an effective planning prior to the travel is necessary. People used to prefer ultimate luxuries while they are on other tours or honeymoon but those couples looking for a unique travel experience can opt this idea. Let your move can change the perception of others. Follow some basic tips as follows

Packing less stuff on tour
We know carrying more luggage can make you tired and not able to enjoy vacation properly. If you are planning a luxurious tour, then it is enough but to spread the awareness of keeping surroundings green you must carry less stuff only so that the resources used to support that too reduces. Thinking about changes you can make in the travel, opt for a walk instead of picking a cab or bus if the distance and safety are assured on the way. At that point, having lot of packed stuff behind your back can make difficulty in walking.

  • Use water bottle instead of buying a plastic bottle- It is purely green as no waste is created. Carry water along with your tour.
  •  Try to walk everywhere - Honeymoon couples can opt for a walking as it allows burning of calories and it can end up to be a romantic cum fun walk. This allows fewer carbon emissions, also you can stay fit and save money. Surat is announced to be in the second position to have more number of diabetic patients and walking can reduce the stress and thus opting for vagabonding green can assure a good health when you are back home.
  • Taste the local dishes and eat less too - It is a good idea to explore the local world and local tastes. Eating less can result in less waste and thus ensure appreciating the local foods. Local food waste is degradable compared to others.

These efforts will turn out to be a habit - When you practice living one with nature and gradually it will turn out to be a habit for you. For example, the natives in Surat who followed the recent strategy in waste management will make it a habit and once they travel in Kerala, automatically their habit will come out. Carry a reusable bag everywhere you travel as shopping centers nowadays will charge for an extra cover which is non -degradable. If you practice these small things in your travel, then it will be a part of your habit slowly.

Respect the local culture - Being a green traveler one must adjust and adapt the local culture. Be it food, dress or tradition try adapting that. An important skill every traveler must require is adaptability. Enjoy the local culture and have the local food. Understand the lifestyle of people there and as you are traveling for a purpose, volunteer some of the activities. In Kerala, there are lots of farms run by individuals and new generation honeymoon travels are now including the notion traveling with a theme and hence some of the honeymoon packages in Kerala are including rural and farm tourism. The organic way of raising a crop can be learned from these destinations. Following these techniques can ensure better health and surroundings.

Travel slowly to opt environment-friendly modes of transport - Avoid air travel and opt for environmentally friendly travel, as are not in a hurry to reach a destination, enjoy the countryside views and learn specific trait of a place that can benefit your life. We know that one can learn best from the lanes, and it is correct too.

'Take pictures but leave your footprints only' is a slogan for every traveler and it is green travelers who are going to implement it. If you try it with your partner on your honeymoon or with your friends, realize it is for a good tomorrow where we fetch a better world to live for our future generations, Make your everytime favorite hobby, travel a purpose.

People are curious to understand the history of the unique culture and watch in close the tradition. People come to Kerala in search of a wider understanding of life. More domestic travels are experienced in Kerala because those states though has many vibrant attractions, historic buildings, they lack in greenery and in places like Surat, there are a number of historic attractions and thus, to get the glance of true nature Kerala is chosen by them. But once reached what to do in Kerala is a big question for many and where to start. Here are some suggestions that must be done in Kerala prior you leave.

Many foreign countries took the presence of abundant spices in Kerala as a motive for doing the trade. Hence since decades, Kerala was taking part in trades. The geography and climate in Kerala were suitable for the plantation of different kinds of spices like pepper, cardamom, cinnamon, clove, turmeric, cumin, and mustard. Kitchen recipes are incomplete without spices. Once you are in Kerala get spices at cheapest rates and take to your home. A Road Trip through the Land of Looms and Lores- Kannur.

From the south to the north of Kerala, the people get to explore the state in each district. I had already been to few places which had excited me due to the destinations to be explored. The next place to escape to was Kannur. Located in the north of Kerala, this place is famous for the temples located in it. Kottiyoor Vadakkeshwaram Temple and Parassinikkadavu Muthappan Temple are two of the most famous temples of worship. But my plan on being on an Amazing Kerala tour packages was not to visit the temples but to get to the various other places which make this location a heaven on the earth for travel.

The first place which had been on my travel list was the Ezhimala hill. Rather than a tourist place, Ezhimala is known for the Naval academy located on the hilltop. As I got to the hilltop, the smell of the medicinal herbs that had been growing there caught my attention. The carved stone pillar is what took me from the bottom to the top of the hill where I got to see the best view of the sea. On walking a short distance I had reached the best spot from where I could capture the minuscule beauty of the place. The hill has also been mentioned in sacred books like Ramayana in Hindu mythology. There was no wonder that families, as well as friends, had been coming in groups here. The sea breeze could be felt from the top.

After spending some time framing beautiful pictures of the location, I climbed down and set off to the next destination which was the Ettikulam beach. The beach seemed to be quite calm and composed as not many people had been there. After striding on the lonely beach for some time I decided to have lunch from this Malabar region and undoubtedly, biriyani was on my mind. This district is in fact blessed with a lot of dishes in the form of snacks too. There are quite a lot of food bloggers who come to Kannur in order to travel through the food cuisine of the place. I had a very hearty lunch where hot chicken biriyani had been in my tummy.

Post lunch, I drove to the most famous Muzhupillangadi beach. It was far from where I had gone for lunch and took my more than an hour and a half to reach. Quite a lot of youngsters had been there driving on the beach. As it is the only drive in beach located in Kerala, tourists had also been driving around there witnessing the beauty of the neatly maintained beach. I decided to go on a short ride with my bike to the beach. The experience had been amazing as I had not expected to be at a smooth beach like it when I had done a ground study of my travel destinations. I sat back to enjoy the sun set from the place. As the night arrived, I got some dinner packed for me from a restaurant and went to the cottage I had booked for my stay. On being from a place like Surat, I had already seen a lot of factors that differentiated Surat and Kannur. The layout of both the places made me feel like Kerala was indeed an evergreen destination to be. On being on the Best Surat to Kerala Tour packages, I also felt that both the places were its own kind where Surat was famous as silk city and Kannur, for the nature it held together. The factor that Surat was a metropolis city was also a major difference to be noted.

The next day I packed my bags and got ready to go to Kanjirakkolly. The major attraction here was the Alakapuri Waterfalls. On reaching the place I noticed that there were three phases of waterfalls in this location. I went to the phase where the water fell from the highest. This location bordered Coorg of Karnataka too. The water cascaded in 7 levels of rocks here, the view of which seemed alluring. Kurinji flowers bloom in this place in a time period of 8 years. The kids who had been there had been rejoicing in this nature hub along with their families. And the spot was undoubtedly a treat to the lens of any photographer. The rocks on the sides of the waterfalls are what added to the beauty of it.

The next place I reached up to was Paithalmala. It is probably one of the best places in Kerala to go on a trekking trip. While climbing up, a gang of people from Jaipur accompanied me. They had set on a tour through Kerala for 10 days which sounded pretty inspirational. On reaching the top, I had been exhausted but the view of the western ghats was not disappointing, instead boosted me much more after spending some time there along with them. From a city like that of Jaipur which is known as the pink city due to the hospitality they serve to their guests, they would have found a competition from the people residing at Kerala as none of us had a bad experience with them. On being on the Enchanting Jaipur to Kerala tour packages, they had also escaped from the metropolis city in search of some place where they could feel refreshed. Even though there are a lot of places in North India for tourism, if the main motive is to explore nature, Kerala is the best place for it.

Before leaving the place I also had a final place to go which I had added into my plan yesterday. The ritual form, Theyyam, which is known to be belonging to this state was being performed in a temple premises for a local festival. So I drove to this place in order to capture the sights of this powerful dance. The expressions and the myths and rituals which were being recited by them seemed to be extremely powerful. The way they dress up for it is also very fascinating. It adds on to the performance too. My Kannur trip had come to an end on it and on having experienced the culture of the whole place I realized that the people here were purely at bliss. I caught the next train back to my native along with my bike on the satisfaction of a great trip to Kannur.
